Interior Repair of Basements & Foundations
Water can enter a basement foundation through settling cracks in the foundation walls/floor, tie leaks, and unsealed concrete. The entrance of water into your basement/foundation is due to the hydrostatic pressure which occurs in the soil surrounding your foundation. Water will always choose the path of least resistance. When there is the opportunity of remaining in the soil (which is compacted and under pressure due to the weight of the soil) or enter through small cracks in your foundation- it will follow the least resistance which is your foundation walls.
The problem with moisture in your foundation/basement is that it will not only ruin any building materials with which it comes in contact (ie. dry wall, wood framing, carpet, etc), it will also enable the growth and proliferation of mold. The presence of mold will create a toxic air hazard to those present in your home/office.
The safest way to prevent these events from transpiring is to prevent moisture from entering your foundation through the crack repair process. In some instances, due to the type of foundation wall and home conditions, water penetration cannot be resolved through crack repair techniques. In this situation alternative treatments, such as interior drain tile, can be placed to alleviate water damage. Interior Crack Repair :
Often times leaking cracks are not discovered until the construction of a home or business structure has been
completed. Resolving the leak can be accomplished from the interior of the basement/foundation walls. This is performed through a high-power epoxy crack injection. When performed correctly, this will provide a permanent repair to your foundation. Superior Waterproofing has perfected their crack repair technique. By doing so, we can confidently offer a life-time warranty on our foundation repair projects.
Drain tile installation :
When a foundation/basement cannot be sealed through crack repair epoxy injection (for example: cinder block, extensive wall damage, etc) an alternative option is installing interior drain tile.
